Fruit Salad for lunch?

It’s low calorie, and healthy right? I don’t have diabetes so it should be Ok.

I attempted mixed veg salad but it was too gross; broccoli, kale, bell pepper,

tomatoes & cucumber and spinach was fine.

I know veg has a different nutrient profile; unique chemical compounds, but the flavours are disgusting unless I cook them with a meat based meal.

I might try to add veg to my protein based dinners.

I think if I maintain fruit lunches for a month or so it could accelerate my weight loss. I don’t think sugar is the enemy either; and there is fiber which increases the glycemic index of the fruit and slows blood glucose spikes.

I try to incorporate some fruit into my diet but very infrequently.

They have too much sugar, as I am diabetic

My mum made great fruit salads. Far better than the tinned fruit salads.

How luxurious!

Fruit salad is so expensive.

It’s expensive if you make it yourself too.

Takes a while to make too but worth it.

That’s something to be happy about to have such a fantastic lunch.

Fresh fruit or canned fruit?

Fresh

I was thinking Oranges, Grapes, Melon, Mango, Blueberry, Strawberry, Apple, Pear, Banana, Kiwi, Plum, Peach.

Mix and match different days.

If I can’t eat it on one day then I’ll blend it into oblivion for a smoothie.

I reckon what I spend on junk far exceeds what I spend on fruit. So hopefully I will save money.

Fresh is usually pretty good for you in moderation. The canned stuff is no better than junk food in many cases.

True but nothing beats vanilla ice cream and tinned peaches :yum:
