So I’m currently taking 156mg Invega Sustenna injection. I’m thinking about asking my doc to switch to pills just because it’s more manageable. Has anyone transitioned from a shot to pills? How did it go? Did you have to be hospitalized ?
I switched from Paliperidone 100mg (Invega) to Aripiprazole 10mg (Abilify) in July this year. It went fine, no issues.

If you mean not taper then yes, I switched over immediately under the guidance of my Doctor.

I switched from Invega injection 50 mg to invega 6 mg. The injection kept me out the hospital for 5 years. Since I switched over to the pills I have been hospitalized twice. I started on the pills in Feb 2021. I was hospitalized in 2022 and then in 2024 so twice in 3 years. If I end up in the hospital again on the pills I am on 9 mg now. Then I may have to switch back to the injection.

I switched immediately from paliperidone Sustenna (the shot) to paliperidone pills. It went fine
But I had to switch meds entirely due to insane food cravings on paliperidone
