I have been on invega sustenna for 4 years now. I have high cholesterol and am obese. My doctor scheduled an appointment with my psychiatrist. I am going to see if I can switch from injection to taking pills. I am tired of going in once a month for the injections. I am also fed up with the lumps at the injection site. The injection is also painful. The only positive is that it has kept me out the hospital for 4 years. I am not sure what pills I want to be on. I was on abilify, olanzapine, and respiredone before. But I kept on going off them and relapsing. Was anyone on injections then switched to pills after???

I was on Invega injections. Now I’m on pills because I don’t have Medicaid and can’t afford injections. I take Haldol

You could get abilify injections if it works for you, it has low metabolic side effects.

My pdoc wouldn’t let me take oral meds even if I wanted. I’ve been non-compliant and am court ordered to take the injection. I’m also on Invega, overweight and sometimes the injection really makes my arm hurt where it’s injected. Also I had a recent increase from 100mg to 150mg and this is the most stabled I’ve been in awhile.

You could look into switching injections. I switched from invega to Aristada and feel so much better. More normal. I also get no lumps.

I switched from Aristada to Abilify 10mgs pills. So far I am struggling more-so than before. I’m going to find a new medication. I take it every night, but I am having nightmares every time I fall asleep. I don’t know what I should do. I don’t think the nightmares are related to schizophrenia.

I switched from invega to zyprexa and seroquel. My psychiatrist injected me with something to help get rid of the severe side effects from invega first, especially since I was switching so suddenly. I improved after that.

If you are noncompliant you could evt switch to one of the older injections
