I recently got the Neural DSP Soldano SLO-100 plug-in and it’s absolutely amazing. But just yesterday I discovered the Soldano SLO mini, a very tiny 30 watt solid state replica of the famous head. I love the sound of it and always wanted to make my own mini head to match a small twin speaker box I have. I won’t be able to get it any time soon but it is on my list for things I may get next year.
nice man…I love electric guitars and amps…when I go electric some day I am going to get an peavey small amp with effects already put in…enough for me…right now I’m gearing up to buy a c. f. martin backpacker guitar after Christmas sometime…used to have one but it got stolen…so years later I’m coming back to it…perfect for parties.
That’s great! I love peavey stuff, my guitar is an 80’s Peavey. I’ve always preferred solid state amps over owning the actual tube amps. I don’t like the hum or the fickleness of the sound in different conditions, maintenance, weight, size and the ability to plug in silently are all factors too. I’ve had some really good sounding and performing solid state amps in the past. I’d recommend a Line 6 amp if you want effects, flexibility and price. We have a 30 watt and it is LOUD! and my brother seems to think guitars sound better on it than his more expensive amp.
I think Peavey makes the line 6 don’t they? because line 6 is what I get…I think I got the peavey spider amp last time.
Nope they are separate companies, I think. Both great! There’s a Line 6 Spider and a Peavey Vypyr. That’s what we have the Line 6 Spider series V (I believe) 30 watts. It was only like $60 used and was in perfect condition.
yes, peavey vypr. that’s it…had both at one time…used to have a hard time holding on to my gear…pawn shops are bad for that…haha…no need to do that now.
Funny, I had the same problem when I lived near a pawnshop
I’ve had so much gear over the years and started over so many times.
Now I am on the hunt for a tiny guitar cabinet. Seems like they are all pretty pricey or not enough wattage to match the guitar head. It may be cheaper to make one custom. I was hoping I could rewire a tiny entertainment center speaker box I have that has high wattage but I guess that might not be the best tone.
wow, you must be really good…I could never build a cabinet.
Haha I’m not but one of my brother’s went to school and works as a carpenter. Or I could swap out the speakers in my little entertainment cab for guitar speakers. I’m not good at soldering either so I would need to ask another brother for that who is a technician.
