I’m really tempted to take 1 mg of Ativan right now. Last time I took it was the 2nd of this month (last friday)
I wanna save my ativan as much as possible because my current doctor was very hesitant to prescribe it because he said its a controlled substance. It takes many months to see an actual psychiatrist where I live, so I can only get benzos from a GP.
I used to take1mg of klonopin. But mixed with my pain medication it would make my blood pressure drop to scary places, so I stopped taking it. I just deal with anxiety the old fashioned way. by chewing my thumbs to shreds. lol
I came off of Ativan about 3 weeks ago after I’d taken it for a month and got addicted to it. It was literally physically painful coming off of it…panic attack after panic attack for 3 days. It was a really helpful med for anxiety but i knew i had to come off of it cuz nobody will prescribe it here outside of the hospital. I would suggest you be very careful with how often you take it and use other methods first to reduce anxiety.
Did you try gabapentin? It’s said to have no detrimental effects and it’s much less addictive than benzos. It can also help sleep if you take it before bed.
I take 300mg before bed for sleep, but I used it to calm myself once when I was in trouble. 600mg did the job.
That’s how I feel… it really does take 99% of my anxiety away when I use it but I don’t want to have a dependence on it and then run out and not be able to get anymore. I went through ativan withdrawal years ago when I was taking a sh-it ton every day and then stopped. I don’t want to go through that again. I might take some today, might not. We’ll see. My Prozac and Olanzapine needs to effing kick in!! Thanks for the reply.
Fair enough. I guess I shouldnt feel too guilty taking a small amount today because it’s almost been 6 full days since my last dose and I wasn’t taking it every day before that.
I attempted suicide by taking a full bottle and a half of Klonopin but woke up the next day just woozy. So I had no more to take and was okay a week but the second week I suffered like I was in hell. I told my pdoc what I’d done and she prescribed me Valium so I could afford it, it being a new medicine my insurance paid for it. I was on the very lowest dosage for a few weeks and then the pharmacy couldn’t get it to me on time month after month and my new pdoc said I could quit. I am not as anxious as in previous years which I attribute to positive thoughts concerning what I’m anxious about. I took three kinds of benzos for over twenty years and I’m glad I’m off because it’s bad to take for a long time.
It was designed for nerve pain, but has a lot of uses, among them as a sedative. Apparently 95% of perscriptions in the US are off label due to the diversity it can be used for
