I used to take 1mg clonazepam for a year. I didnt have any trouble tapering off of it when I followed my pdocs tapering plan.

I take Xanax at 1-2 mg as needed. I used to abuse my prescription and then got addicted. I had a withdrawal that lasted for a week. Felt like my heart was about explode. But now I basically just take it for sleep and when I’m doing really bad so I can just sleep off the symptoms.

You would think taking three major tranquilizers (antipsychotics), and a first generation antihistamine would knock me out, but I guess it takes another medication to really put over the edge.

Hey man, sleep is important. Im glad something helps you.

I found that taking 300 mg magnesium and 6 mg melatonin at bedtime helps me sleep.

I have some emergency Ativan, but I do everything I can to avoid using it. I am scared of things that feel too good or too right. I have learned they come with a heavier cost than I can afford. I have to be in such rough shape that I have my wife saying, “take the damn thing!” to consider it.

Smart man. Benzos are kinda like cheating if you’ve been in therapy for anxiety.

Like @John_Raven just said, smart man. Benzos are only positive if you don’t take them often enough to get physically dependent on. Taking them everyday for weeks and especially months only leads to dark places.

Therapy can keep you away from the edge of the cliff on most days, but it’s nice to have a rope thrown to you if you do go over.

I’ve been to a lot of therapy and still have to take benzos.

Yes, be cautious.

But saying it’s like cheating is very condesending and super rude.

I take 0.25 to 0.5mg of clonazepam only when I’m super stressed out or when I’m anxious.
It’s a life saver

Clonazepam is pretty potent @TheCanuk and it’s long lasting.

Only benzos i’ve taken are Ativan and Xanax. Never tried Klonopin (Clonazepam)

Im slowly tapering off clonazapam I miss dosed and nothing happens but there’s this one thing that’s on my mind

When people say “you shouldn’t use benzos you should take a SSRI med like Prozac” I’m a weird case because if I abuse benzos which I haven’t in a long time I’d get less messed up than if I took Prozac and Prozac induced high is a lot better than benzos

I’ve never heard of that before. That is strange. Well you lived and learned that Ativan isn’t for you.

I kinda wish I could get Xanax instead of my Ativan. To my understanding Xanax is the most powerful benzo.

Regular Xanax, not the extended release version is highly addictive
I wouldn’t suggest it

Hey man if you don’t mind me asking…what did you have to say to get the benzos? I’m really struggling and need something to calm me down … But I know my p-doc will never give me them
