I was reading a couple of @kindness’s posts and saw that he goes to the VA. This got me to thinking and I just wanted to say to @kindness and all the military people who served on here, “Thank you for your service”.
Thank you.
The U.S. military doesn’t hate what’s in front of them, they just love what’s behind them.
Thank you 151515
Thanks for your support! I serve in the Navy right now
How can you serve if you have schizophrenia? I thought that it disqualified you.
I was diagnosed while in service. And it can take Many months to a year to get medical seperation or medically retired from military
You’re welcome!
Thank you for your service!
I spent four years in the army from 1977-81. There are a lot of hardships in military life. A lot of those guys spend years away from their family. A lot of them have spent a good part of their lives stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They deserve a lot of respect.
I was a bachelor’s prepared R.N. in the U.S. Air Force Nurse Corp. from 1987- 1989. During peacetime. I worked mostly on the surgical floor. But, I floated to the medical floor, the stroke rehab floor, to orthopedics, to oncology, to postpartum, to the emergency room, to the special care unit which was like the ICU, and I even took care of the neonates once. I really don’t know how I did it. The hand of God was upon me. He always has been, all of my life. Here I was, sza, on no medications, and taking care of patients. Go figure.
Thank you to everyone in the military!
Yeah the charity that will be Housing me deals with those suffering with a severe mental illness and with Veterans.
They do great work with Vets as well.
Providing Services, Shelter etc…
Thank you to those that served in the Military!
Thank you for your service. It must have been hard to do that without medication.
I respect the military service. My grandfather was a P.O.W. in WW II and my brother is in Afghanistan right now on a contract job. I worry about him. It’s the third time he’s been over there. the first time he was in the Air Force.
It was! It was hell! Being a nurse is hard on anybody but to a sz, it is many thousands of times harder. I had a hell of a time. I worked in nursing for ten years. My pdoc says that I accomplished the impossible.
It was very hard! My pdoc says that I accomplished the impossible.
You deserve a lot of respect. Not many people could have done what you did. Being a nurse without schizophrenia must be hard enough, but being a nurse with schizophrenia must be terrifically difficult.
