For those that know about mania or have experienced mania/are experiencing mania

How do you cope with it? Most of my behaviors are controlled but I need like a blueprint to go by so I can better handle it. I haven’t slept right in days, I finish thoughts of people I am talking to, I have such an elated mood, when I’m out and about and everything I see reminds me of something. If there is a conversation, one word from that conversation transports me to something else. I started doing exercises and releasing my energy so that’s a plus.

Other things I do : stay away from a lot of caffeine, don’t drink it past a certain hour, stay away from alcohol, sugar. Take my mood stabilizer 3x a day. Take a multivitamin.

I’m telling you man, I had no perspective on the issue until it hit me, then I was sympathetic and felt guilty for being a part of the ones who said it was easy or acted like moods were secondary or unimportant.

Yea it never struck me as important either especially when my diagnosis isn’t bipolar or schizoaffective. The last time a psychiatrist told me a diagnosis was over a year ago. They don’t talk about it a lot and they said schizophrenia. Just so you know lol I’m female
