For those on Vraylar

Does it cause the same agitation as Abilify? The reason I ask is I may need to change my APs. I’m on Geodon and Latuda. The Geodon requires 500 calories twice a day and I’ve been doing Weight Watchers. It turns out to be a lot of WW points.

I can’t go back to the weight gaining ones and I would love to be on Haldol but am afraid of TD.

Or does anyone know of any meds that would help me? Thanks! :sunny:

Thats an unfortunate combo. I hated to have to eat whenever I took geodon. The reason I haven’t tried latuda is that it means you have to eat. I can’t imagine how annoying it must be to have to be on both of them.

I’m not very edgy on it I don’t think. I feel too much feelings after stopping the zyprexa … I am the epitome of jerkdom it seems to me sometimes.

But vraylar seems to ease hallucinations and I’m not feeling much akesthesia overall… Edgy from leaving my old med yeah but I don’t think its the vraylar

@eduvigis They’re both weight neutral drugs and I have no side effects. I take my morning dose of Geodon and the Latuda together. The Geodon is just hard when you are trying to lose weight. Thanks for your reply.

@HuckFinn Thanks for your reply. I saw in another thread that you take it and was hoping you would respond. I was never on Zyprexa but was on Seroquel for years. I recently came off of it and now see how sedating it was. My sleep schedule finally got back to normal. What exactly is akesthesia? I see people on here use that term all of the time but never understood it. Thanks for your input. :sunny:

Thanks for the clarification. I had it real bad on Abilify. That was my main concern with Vraylar. I’ll talk to my pdoc and see what he thinks. It’s scary to rock the boat when you’re stable but man that Geodon is a pain. My pdoc warned me it takes about 6-8 months of being off of Seroquel to feel like myself again. So be patient with yourself with not taking the Zyprexa anymore. Your body depended on it for some time. Good luck @HuckFinn. :sunny:

Hi @SunGirl
Giving Vraylar a try is worth it.
I was on it for a short while, it was not the right med for me, but as you know everyone reacts differently to these meds.
I found it to be very stimulating but it really did give me more motivation and helped with my depression.
