Food insecurity

I’m sure some of you can relate to food insecurity. I finally just paid the rest of June rent and now it’s almost time to pay July rent. I get food boxes delivered from the food bank every other week and my next one isn’t till July 5th. I just got a food box last week and got stocked up on protein, but since I was doing the keto diet I gave away the starchy things that came in the food box. Now I’m regretting that and would gladly go off the keto diet if I knew I’d just be able to eat.

Yeah it definitely sucks.

I went hungry at times as a kid when it was just me and my mom and two sisters living on welfare. That was back in the 80s before there were things like food pantries.

Maybe try and visit another church or pantry.

No one should go hungry.

And keep everything next round. It’s good to help, but you don’t want to be eaten out of house and home.

Take care. :hugs:

That’s difficult my friend. I always keep cheaper foods like ramen in case I can’t afford anything.

Do you have family who can help? I tend to rely on family for help.

I was able to talk to my church friend and she is going to drive me to a food bank on Thursday
