i prefer second generation antipsychotics for its more effectiveness for negative and cognition symptoms

What I always heard is that 1st generation drugs work just as well as 2nd generation drugs for positive symptoms but the side effects are less for the second generation.

I cannot tolerate the activating ( anti negative symptoms effects) of most second gen antipsychotics. I need antimanic calming antipsychotics and that’s the reason why I’m on Clopixol LAI 400 mgs every other week and Seroquel 600 mgs by mouth.

I tried these and what meds that worked for psychosis (and propably lyme too)

Seroquel 100 mg worked for 2 months 15 years ago then pooped out and never worked again
Minocycline 50 mg … 100% recovery

I asked Fluanxol 1 mg to my doctor for the gambling side effect i cannot live like this no more I am already taking Vraylar 3 mg, it’s day 7 and my negative symptoms and psychosis are improved since day 1 i cannot understand this, it must be a very good med Fluanxol?

I tried these and they gave me all horrible side effects below →

Sycrest 10 mg
Zeldox 40 mg 2 daily
Abilify
Zyprexa
Solian
Clozapine (the worst i think) and Zeldox aka geodon too

Fluanxol seems to have a very fast anti depressant effect since day 1 i do not understand?
I feel im finally recovering but it’s only 7 days?

As I understand i am taking a first generation medication with even less side effects then Vraylar???

It does not make sense…

I am scared fluanxol will poop out too or not work, but i already feel better since day 1 i don’t understand, Let’s pray and hope it’s a Godsent medication…

Fluanxiol is a very potent antipsychotics and at very low doses a very potent antidepressiva. I hope that it will continue working for you jorg and I’ll pray for a speedy recovery of you.

I made a mistake on haldoperidone by not taking the benztropine. So the anxiety caused by the consequences stuck in my head and when they tried to increase the dose I resisted. The first typical I took just put me to sleep and caused blindness spells (I forgot the name.) It also only helped the voices when I was asleep. Risperdal allowed me to work but I had to read a book to not hear voices in the daytime. Invega quieted the voices at times during the day and I reluctantly had to eventually accept it as my main drug (along with some vyalar.) in spite of difficulties with weight gain and the fact it didn’t completely rid me of the voices. At least the constipation is not as bad as Risperdal was.

I take generic prolixin…no side effects whatsoever…I love it…I think it’s first generation.

I’ve taken chlorpromazine, haloperidol, and perphenazine…i liked them better than the new meds. I had a lot less side effects.

I also take chlorpromazine and haloperidol and clozapine and I’m fine, no sedation for me

I agree with both of you in that I too like most of the antipsychotics better that was approved before 1990 including Clozapine of course.
