I wish I had more to do today. Today is the first day of my starting Mon , Wed, Friday fasting. When I’m bored, I think more about the fact that I’m hungry.
We do have my moms adjustable electric hospital bed coming today. She is having a second spinal surgery, and wanted it. So we will be swapping that out with her current bed.
Outside of that, and the eye appt I had earlier, I have nothing planned today, so going to have a lot of free time on my hands to think about food.
Anywho, I will get through. I need to lose weight, so I will make it happen.
I used to fast for delusional reasons when I was psychotic, so I have some experience with it. But I was heavy on delusional motivation before.
Anyone else have experience with intermittent fasting?
One tip is to skip breakfast or just don’t eat when you’re not hungry i.e. never force feed yourself.
Another tip is to keep busy all day. When your moving your satiety and hunger hormones ghrelin and leptin are in a good place. When I’m at work for example I can go the whole day 8 hours and not even get hungry cause I’m moving. Weekends it’s a different story I wanna eat every 4 hours.
im kind of exprimenting atm to see what works our best. Today I went from 10 pm the previous night until about 4:30pm today and ate a small supper. I had planned on going till midnight but decided that it might put me in starvation mode and hold up weight loss if I went too long, so I went ahead and ate a small supper. I plan on eating normally tomorrow and trying again Weds, Friday.
My dr did not instruct me on the hours when I asked about fasting. Only briefly told me what to do with medications. No glipizide or metformin when fasting. Ozempic normally. And insulin reduced by quarter dose. These Drs you see for 15 minutes dont want to go over a detailed fasting method with you in my experience. But she did ok it.
Edit: I am also keeping a close eye on blood sugar.
