Why did my psychiatrist

Why did my psychiatrist change my diagnosis? How does it change? I’m having the same symptoms. Plus he said I have a thought disorder, but said I have depression with no psychotic symptoms. What does that mean? I don’t feel like he’s helping. I’m going to change doctors. But what I want to know is how he can change my diagnosis without me getting better?

See, I always get diagnosed sz when I go to the mental hospital, but he says I now have something else. And he doesn’t believe in psychology.

It just means that psychiatrists dont know what they are doing. Sz should be left to neuroscientists as soon as we know more about the disease.

My doc doubts about me too. She sent someone to check if im lying about my visual hallucinations.

I would not get a new doc just cause im mad at my current one. I wanted to change my pdoc out of anger but im glad i didnt.

Does it really matter what the diagnosis is? Something isnt right and ap is necessary…thats it.

Doctors don’t know what’s wrong with me. I was first depressed with psychosis. Then they put down psychosis not otherwise specified. They decided on schizoaffective disorder so insurance would cover it. They don’t know what I have; my sz diagnosis is for the paperwork. I’m my own kind of crazy

How can they check if you’re having visual hallucinations? Doesn’t that mean they can’t see what you can see? How would they verify that?

They sent a doc or a woman…i dont know…to me a year after i had seen that hallucination. And she started asking questions like…what colour it was…

A year before i had told my doc i saw a cat hallucination…probably i told her the colour too…so after a year…they checked if my story had changed.

The cat was black and white…and the woman asked…was it a grey cat?

Maybe, if it is possible, you should do some research on available pdoc’s. It’s important to get a good fit when you’re looking for a new pdoc.

How does one check? Doctors are weird sometimes.

There are reviews of doctors on lots of different kinds of websites, from doctor websites to Yelp. Put the doctors’ names in your favorite search engine and see what happens. You might also want to try to search “psychiatrists in [your zip code]” to find doctors close by. Also, Doctors on Demand (http://www.doctorsondemand.com) has psychologists and psychiatrists, and sometimes insurance covers it.

Imho the less you ‘talk’ the less severe your diagnosis is silence sometimes is worth more than a thousand words you know
