I’m going to make this work. I drink way too much.
I’m quitting too. Good luck to you!
Best of luck to you both.
You may not like everything about the first meeting but give it a chance. Everything will be strange and new and it takes a little while to get used to it and know what it’s like. The people are usually friendly to newcomers. It’s not all doom and gloom, some of those people are really funny and there’s lots of laughter in meetings. You don’t have to talk your first meeting (and you don’t have to put anything in the donation basket). AA was a good experience for me and has kept me clean and sober for 32 years. Good luck.
I heard many good things about it. I’m not a deadset alcoholic, just a binge drinker but I do recognise I do have a problem as I can’t just say no to one beer. I want to change this and go teetotal.
That’s great and courageous @bobbilly good luck with the meeting!
That was me. I would drive too. I had to quit. I went to a couple of AA meetings. It helped. I haven’t drank in over two years.
The common thing that happens when someone goes to an AA meeting is they say I’m not that bad when they hear people speak and they quit going.
you can do it! i did and got some good sobriety. was kind of in a clique and didn’t meet most of the other people at the meetings. work it!
Actually, that very observation shows you what you will be like if you don’t stop now.
Good luck @bobbilly - I hope this helps you with your goals
Best of luck @LilyoftheValley @bobbilly . You can do it!
Thanks @Jonathan2
