Fight or flight mode

I’ve had this since I was around 20 years old. It happened after smoking too much pot. I think the correct term is panic disorder.
sometimes it surfaces every now and then. I had one episode of it tonight lasted for like an hour and a half.
I don’t know what triggered it but it was just sudden.

I experience it as all of a sudden my hair stands on end and my body just gets weird shivers, and I feel like everything is jumping out at me. Just super high vigilance. Like I’ll notice every little shadow or movement as if it is an attack. All my surroundings warp and also I see huge halos around lights (prob cuz eyes get dilated from it)

The last one I had was back in october.

it sucks when it happens but I’ve been through it enough to know not to panic that anything is seriously wrong its just my autonomic system being out of wack.

anyone deal with that sort of thing?

Yeah happened to me way too many times. Never touched weed seriously till I was 23 and developed depressive disorder.

I would say it’s anxiety for sure but I’m no doctor. Ssri’s can help and so can benzo’s for the short term but it’s still something to discuss with your doctor. It’s not normal so it’s wise to seek a solution.

Yeah i get them when ive been on a serious bender and drunk too much the day before. Think its slight physical withdrawls. Paranoia as well. Doesnt help knowing, if i have another drink it will go away.

I feel better thanks. Yeah they suck. I dont even know why it happens.
I think it happened when i noticed my front door was partly open and i forgot if i had closed it or not. Brain just went boom.

But all good now. New day

I get panic attacks. They’re awful. I’m glad you’re able to recognize it and somewhat keep your cool

Yes they are awful. Yeah ive had enough of them to recognize it. Atleast we know they dont last forever even though it feels that way in the moment

Yeah. It’s comforting to know it’ll pass
