The light wouldn’t be as bright without the darkness. As much as a travesty as that is.
People shouldn’t have to experience what we can’t avoid, but SZ is only one facet of the imperfection in this universe.
Perhaps one day humanity will have the ability to rise above the darkness, let’s hope by then we’ve evolved to truly appreciate the beauty of it innately and fully, without the need of the contrast.
The contrast I often talk about with writers is this form of resistance, in which, if you want to write something beautiful, go do it a bathroom stall at a busy bar, or in prison, or in an alley. You must feel that opposite reinforcement around you, then resist.
