Feeling a bit out of sorts folks

Pretty much afraid to go outside. Don’t want to make a habit of calling the crisis lines so will just suck it up. Nothing else for it!

How long have you been back on 600mg? I think you should be seeing an improvement soon. Seroquel reaches a steady state pretty quickly.

I have been getting akathisia so I took prescribed procyclidine. I think I have had a bad reaction to this med. both psychosis and nervousness are both side effects.

So have taken the procyclidine out of my doset box. Will just have to live with the akathisia.

TBH haven’t felt this bad in 5 years. Am worried. Phoned my nurse but the secretary said she was in a team meeting. Have got it in my head that the meeting about how to take me off their list. Complete catastrophic thinking.

That’s definetely not true. Do you have any PRN that you could take?

Yeah got some oral depixol. Thanks for reminding me - will take some now.

My nurse is away all afternoon and the duty worker is busy so I have no one to talk to. Is it appropriate to try and contact a gp directly?

Are you going to get them to prescribe something?

Was just going to explain the situation and what advice they would give. I think NHS 24 would just tell me to contact my mental health team because we are in office hours. Not sure though.

Just feeling a bit scared and desperate now. :weary:

Geez. Sorry to hear that. :fearful: Maybe ring NHS24 and explain that you’ve tried contacting your mental health team to no avail.

But to be honest it looks like you’ll have to sweat it out for a few days until the meds kick in again. I can’t see what anybody can do other than prescribing something for the anxiety. But that’s just my non medical opinion.

Did you take the PRN?

Yeah took my prn. The anxiety isn’t really helped by this though. I wondered if the dr could prescribe me more pregabalin - I take that for anxiety. I take 200mg and it can go up to 600mg.

@jimbob… dont stop calling please!!! there was a time i used them and i called them enough times for them to send help … they came to my home … calllllllllllllll…

Might be a plan. Well give them a call. All they can do is say no. Just explain that you couldn’t go through the normal channels today.

Thanks @everhopeful you are a good buddy.

Phoned the gp secretary and explained the situation. She said she will leave a message with the duty doc. Just have to wait and see now.

Well what a mess this is. Spoke to my CPN and they said speak to the doctors. Spoke to the doctors and they said speak to the CPN.

No one wants to take responsibility. My CPN made it clear she won’t speak to the gp on my behalf.

I am unwell and not able to persue this buerocratic game.

So will have to soldier on myself.

@Jimbob I know this sucks, but I am also sure you have been through worse. And you have the experience to know it’ll get better, you won’t be stuck this way. Hang in there, call the hotline if need be. Can your family help distract with some take away, maybe an ice cream?

You’re right - I have been through worse. This is just temporary
