Feeling a bit better but still going on meds

I’m feeling a bit better for now.

Yesterday was awful!

Out of the blue my moods crashed and I had these dark thoughts come to the surface!

I couldn’t stop sobbing.

I’m still depressed but I think I’m now for the time being out of the danger zone.

Still going to ask my psychiatrist whenever she calls to get back on a mood stabilizing medication.

Thanks for the support!

glad to hear you doing a bit better…
I hope you keep improving.
But i think it’s good that you gonna ask to be put back on the mood stabilizer.

Do you really think I need to be on a mood stabilizer @lekkerhondje?

i’m not sure but i think it’s worth a shot to see if it improves you by taking away the dark thoughts.

How often do you get dark thoughts?

What I mean by dark thoughts are actually suicidal thoughts.
I normally don’t have them but a few days ago my depression hit me fast and deep and I had suicidal thinking for a few hours.

Normally I’m not suicidal.

yea that is not good… suicidal thoughts are the worst really… i struggled with them long time but now since last time psych ward i got better.

I think it’s worth trying the mood stabilizer for sure. Or at least discuss it with your pdoc to see what he/she thinks.

Let your Dr know that you had these suicidal thoughts then they disappeared. See what he thinks.

Yeah I will.
I’m upset with my doctor.
She hasn’t gotten back to me after I mentioned that I had suicidal thoughts.

I see her later today but she should really have contacted me a couple of days ago when things were bad.

Yes I will.
Thanks @Aziz

yea it sucks that she didn’t contact you back when you were feeling suicidal… it’s good that you see her today though… When i get bad i always contact my gp doc first cause she is easier to get a hold of.

In 2012 I had strong suicidal thoughts for months. My pdoc then put me on Lamotragine for a mood stabilizer. I’ve been on it ever since.

I would really consider to go back on a mood stabilizer if I were you.

I’m so sorry to hear that you were suicidal for a while. It’s normal to get suicidal every now and then. The point is it doesn’t last.

When you were suicidal, did you have a definite, concrete plan for ending your life? That question is important. And I’m sure your pdoc will want to know the answer.

Years ago, I was suicidal with plans, for many years, 24/7. I know what it’s like.
