Went a week late for depot. They were doing height/weight/and blood pressure and pulse.
Blood pressure was 128/82 which I guess is ok for a 57 year old but pulse was 106.
They commented on that saying it was fast. I said ‘why’ and they said could be anxiety but at the time I didn’t feel that anxious(I do suffer from chronic anxiety but not 24/7).
I wonder whether anxiety can become such a regular thing that when at a milder level you don’t even register that you’re anxious. It’s just how you are.
My pulse runs at 120-125. Probably from my meds.
It is scary to know at how fast the heat beat, maybe because I have watched too much of horror movies.
Is pulse rate and blood pressure related to each other?
Not usually. If either are out of whack, there are respective solutions for whatever is wrong.
Ohh. We did vital signs in my nursing course. The factors that influence your pulse rate are:
- exercise - short term it increases, but it gets conditioned with long term exercise to be lower
- temperature - fever and heat increase it, hypothermia decreases it
- emotions - pain and anxiety increase it (symp. nervous stimulation), relaxation and unrelieved severe pain decrease it (parasyp. sys.)
- drugs - epinephrine and some street drugs increase your pulse rate, other decrease it
- bleeding increases pulse rate
- standing or sitting increases pulse rate
- pulmonary conditions - poor oxygenation like asthma or COPD
Thank you for sharing this. So I think our pulse rate is the lowest if laying on bed, right?
Yes, your pulse is lower while laying down and relaxed.
my heart rate/pulse goes up at doctors etc…it is normal
muggles get anxiety…etc
our blood pressure goes up and down all the time, due to sugar , food, weather conditions, stress…again it is normal.
you’'ll be fine, try not to think about it.
take care
