Exercising has become my biggest hobby

I ride my bicycle a lot, then I do my exercise movements in the morning and in the evening, sometimes my legs are hurting when I go to bed … exercising is great …

Last year one exercise group organized by my psych unit helped me to start exercising, this was great … starting to exercise can be difficult, but when one has done it for some time it is so much easier … also a good thing is that I do not own an automobile, which makes me to ride my bicycle much more … bicycle riding is what they do a lot in big European cities such as Copenhagen and elsewhere … the way of life …

I think exercise is tragically underutilized in the mental health community. Physical activity gets our neurotransmitters moving, among other things. It’s very good for us physically and mentally.

I really like my resistance bands–the tubular ones, not the strap-looking disposable things you get at the PT office. I go for a minimum of 40 minutes a day doing a variety of exercises–though I want to go another twenty minutes. I have joint hypermobility syndrome, so the resistance building my muscles is really helpful and I enjoy it. It also makes it safer for me to go hiking and such since I’ve got more stability in my ankles, shoulders and whatnot. I still don’t think I’d try any sports but I’m afraid that’s just the nature of JHS. Still, my pain level has gone way down since I started; some injuries have healed, too. It’s probably improved my depression just as much.

Yep, exercising is good if one has depression, just walking outside is great, fresh air and things like that …

I do yoga, take the stairs in my apartment building, and play piano for 45 minutes everyday. That’s my exercise regimen.

In addition to mental illness, exercising is also good if one such as myself has diabetes or high blood pressure, well I just woke up, in 30 minutes I’ll do my 1000 exercise movements.

I walk a 5k 5 days a week…life saver is what that is…

it really helps I also do the exercise only two ra a day before and after bedtime

Same here. Exercising has become my only hobby. Working on endurance/running and weightlifting in the gym.
My goal with the running is becoming fit enough to run a race called “Göteborgsvarvet”. 21 km/a half marathon.
Gonna try and lose 8 kgs.
