I wanted to start a exercise journal for all of us that workout, and hopefully will workout. It can be any type of workout; walking, running, weightlifting, martial arts, crossfit, etc. For a while it was just my personal belief that exercising helps us deal with the extreme challenges of mental illness. However, I have found and been told that working out helps the mentally ill, just like socializing with others. It really is part of our self-care, and because of that, I think we should keep track of all ours exercises, and support each other with motivation and compliments; I think we all know motivation is tough with schizophrenia. I’ll do an example, and you can really write anything.
I did squats today and broke my personal record, and ended up maxing on 315 pounds. Then I did several other leg exercises, such as leg extensions and leg curls. I highly recommend the pre and post jym for weightlifting, and also a good protein shake.
I hope you guys can see, over time, that we all made progress in working out and supporting daily achievements, for exercise is a personal win everyday.
That’s pretty good, and it seems like you’re doing it the right way, instead of when I went anorexic and lost 100 pounds in 5 months. I’m focusing on cutting a lot of belly fat right now.
I have just been in the gym. My goal was to row 1 kilometer in five minutes, i managed to row 1100 and was totally exhausted afterwards.
I don’t like being in the gym, so i make it as hard (lots of weight) and fast as possible. Later i used the bike and drove 50 kilometers an hour for a couple of minutes and then 30 kilometers an hour for 10 minutes…
I just quit the gym as I have not been working, so can’t afford it…
But now I have a dog I am walking outside for an hour a day
This is nothing compared to the exercise I got Landscaping.
May consider going back to that, but not sure yet.
I am trying to figure out what to do, but the people who’re supposed to be helping me have gone frustratingly quiet and not responding to my calls or texts.
Last night I did two hours of martial arts taught by an instructor, who happens to be my uncle. It was split between one hour of Jeet Kune Do and another hour of Filipino Kali. But today I’m taking today off to recover with bcaa’s and protein, so I can work tomorrow and then after, workout.
Today I worked out for about 40 minutes; 30 of which was weight training, and the other ten was cardio. I know I should have done a lot more, but I was on a time crunch because of my ride. I did standing military press, up to 155 pounds, then I worked out more arms, particularly triceps and biceps. Again, would have done more but I did not have the time. Tell you what, though, preacher curls hit different than regular curls. Now I’m drinking my shake and then hitting the shower.
I haven’t tracked my workouts on here as much this week, but I did workout 3 days, alternating work days. Today I took it lighter because how sore I’ve become throughout the week. Still hitting that protein, though.
@shutterbug, I installed myfitnesspal again on my phone, so I’ll track my nutrition and calories better. Its improved quite a bit since last time I was on it. My target weight is 200 pounds on there. However, I’m not so much concerned with weight, as I am with body composition.
