Exercise & Diet Support Thread! 💪 🏃‍♂️ 🏊‍♂️

My ISP stood me up on Monday and were out today but were not able to fix the problem, so this further delays the start of my diet. :frowning:

I’m trying a six tiny meals a day thing. Wish me luck.

I pretty much gave up on being shredded. Being less than 10% body fat is just ridiculous and for people who have time and no medical conditions.

I used to be really ripped but I smoked cigarettes and it kept me ripped.

Now I am actually fit and still buff from advanced calisthenics. I run and box and do leg day with my friends.

Today my friend and I ran 3.4 miles and the other friend is really buff, 6’2 and 225lbs and he made like 2 miles. I’m in the middle, the friend I finished the run with is skinny and all about endurance and fitness while I’m about fighting conditioning and my other friend is a massive dude. I was a fighter and well I’m retired, college doesn’t allow time for pursuing belts but does allow time for me to stay in condition. We box routinely and today we also did core exercises which we usually do, but today we hit each other in the abdomen during the exercises because we’ve all been conditioning and it was time to see practical results. Next thing after workout was back to school work. No time for pursuing belts.

I got a little layer of body fat after quitting smoking a pack or more a day. I used to be this ripped this February

Now I’m not quite but pretty close. Actually just three pounds gained. But it sucks to go from perfect looking to just really good.

I am also on a pretty strict diet but that’s not helping.

Do you ever get sugar cravings?

I’ve only heard of nurse at regarding drinking a pint of beer… I think nursing something is more of a suckling kind of addictive thing, rather than sipping which is drinking slowly

Yeah! That’s what I meant! Nurse it like you nurse a pint of beer

I don’t know… I said nurse because to me sipping means drinking continually. Nursing brings to my mind: have a sip, talk to someone, watch people play darts for a little while, check your phone, have another sip.

Sipping in slow, slow, slow motion.

Nope no sugar cravings

I have some sugar every day in my coffee so I’m not deprived of it

Heh, I’d give my left arm for a piece of cherry cheese cake right now! I typically get sugar craving before I go to sleep. I consume a packet of the zero carb drink mixes that use artificial sweetener to lessen the cravings.

I’ve been on this low carb diet for 3 days so far. I’m feeling run down, which is normal while your body is getting adjusted to not consuming carbs. It sucks that I don’t have access to a scale so I could weigh, but I imagine it’ll be apparent I have lost weight within the next ten days just based on how tight my clothing feels.

Any idea how to deal with them? I’m full, I don’t want anything to eat but I just feel like I need sugar.

If you want to loose weight ; think diet first, then exercise.
Diet is the key element!!!

Well sugar is necessary in moderation. Maybe include some everyday, like sugar in your coffee or a sports drink everyday day, maybe even honey on toast every morning.

The zero sugar thing is as unhealthy as excess sugar.

Not a thing wrong with zero sugar…there’s nothing in sugar that will help anyone, unless in the middle of a crash in blood sugar which is caused by too much sugar in the first place
if you believe in moderation in everything - that’s also wrong because it’s addictive for a lot of people

like saying smoke the odd cig

Day 3 of fast over… it’s not going to be easy aiming for 40 days.
Watching you tube before and afters’!!!

Good work staying strong for 3 days!

You aim to go 40 days without eating any food? You’re consuming your calories through liquids I assume?

I’m having 4, 80 kcal protein shakes a day…

a multivit, a fibre supplement and herbal tea

Hopefully my voice food diary app (or something similar) won’t be used in the future for dystopian purposes (if you think gun control is bad, imagine what it would be like if you were forced by law to eat 7 servings of fruits and veggies a day) but for now it is really helping me lose weight slowly and I feel actually pretty good for a change.

Great work @keepsimple! I lost some weight but have been off my diet since thanksgiving! I need to go back on it for a couple weeks before Christmas!

Got A.D.D.? Dr. Daniel Amen has researched over 100,000 brain scans and identified 7 types of ADD. He has clinics on the west coast, New York, Atlanta. Different solutions for different needs, videos, specialized brain supplements (all ingredients listed).

I’m the “Inattentive ADD” type, vs. “Classic” or “Over-focused” etc. He recommends different supplements like l-tyrosine, GABA, magnesium – but depending on the ADD type, carbs and protein are handed differently.
