Exercice and schizophrenia

My aches and pains are my big motivators. I HAVE to do my yoga 4 to 5 times a week to prevent pain from arthritis.

It’s true for me too. I excercised today. And feel better. 2 days in a row of exercise has helped though it’s not the same dopamine high as before meds. How about you?

I loved doing endurance sports, but this passion got ruined, like most things, due to sz. Maybe i couldn’t handle the “high” doing sports. I don’t have a car and need to walk to the shops and bus stops. That is my exercise.

I wish I could feel motivated just to go for a walk, I might be getting testosterone replacement maybe that will encourage me.

It can be nice to be groggy but to be that way for years and decades gets tiring.

I pack my bag with training clothes and a towel in the evening and the first thing I do in the morning is go to the gym and exercise. That makes it easier. And it has a big effect on my mood.

I don’t really exercise but I walk a lot. And ride my bike in the summer. But what motivates me to walk and go outside is Pokemon Go. I play it very seriously. The game gives rewards, if you walk a lot you get more rewards. This game encourages to be active and also be social with other players. I also track my walking progress. I walk 10 000 steps almost every day.

It’s hard for me to motivate myself to work out. Going to gym is boring and I feel uncomfortable around other people, I don’t want other people see me exercise. But I really should exercise more.

Sports and games are good. You won’t feel the counts or reps

I think excercise helps in burning out all the pent up neurosis in our body-mind.

Maybe just try walking first and then do light stretching for 15 minutes… it goes a long way in helping you to stabilize your emotions for sure.

What kind of rewards does it give?

It gives in-game rewards, such as items you can use in the game like pokeballs, berries and potions and things like that.

I find i have more interest in netflix and ability to concentrate on the programs if i exercise regularly.
