Ethical dilemma with killing animals

I personally opt for Seitan (digestibility can be improved with other foods) which is easy to make, has lots of protein, low-fat/low-carb and apparently with simply adding Soy Sauce - it makes it a complete protein.

And there’s lots of good seitan recipes out there.

Exactly. Well said.

And I do mean it, I would make the switch if it were affordable. It just isn’t feasible for my family.

Never tried it, I have vegan burgers sometimes but I believe they’re from soy.

I don’t care what people eat, I just wish all animals were treated with love and respect til death.

Keeping your animals in a space where they can’t move around makes the meat tender. Your pic makes me not want store bought meat.

I don’t know if it’s possible for all people to go vegan.

But I do it now since 4 days because I believe I can hopefully get all nutrition I need from plant food as long as I take good quality appropriate strength supplements and fortification.

I believe its a healthier alternative and that if possible to avoid animal products it feels good since animals seem to have feelings.

It wouldn’t be such a bad thing to eat the meat if they died naturally and were treated honorably… After all, death is a natural process in life. But it doesn’t occur in a natural way in the way the industry is doing it and what its doing it for.

There are people who have their own chickens and eat their eggs and that’s one reason I don’t consider myself ‘vegan’. Because it isn’t a longer-term/big picture solution.

The whole vegan thing is a small-minded/narcissistic response to a bigger issue.

The issue is we need communities and we need to re-think our priorities and re-evaluate what we value in life and death.

I mean I’m at high risk of stroke etc. and veganism is meant to support reducing risk of vascular disease.

Perhaps different eating habits are truly more healthy for different people. Ie plant eaters or meat eaters etc etc but I can’t guarantee that!!!

What bothers me about nutritionists/vegans is that they seem to be avoidant of real life issues people struggle with.

They especially seem to disregard the emotional stress and mental issues people are struggling with and what is even causing those.

They’re just contributing to a branch that grows and isn’t rooted in something sound.

You should eat less of it and leave more for me.

Idk it’s hard to tell for example my mum eats ■■■■ all the time. I’m not in her mind so I can’t tell what’s going on. Obviously it helps her eating ■■■■ cos of comfort eating I guess. But I’m just saying it’s not healthy. As far as I’m aware. It’s just sad n it scares me. Wat she is doing. But maybe she truly needs that food.

Likewise idk about meat n dairy etc.

It’s personal. I m not in her mind. But I can imagine some reasons at least.from what she says and does.

You don’t have to be ‘in someone’s mind’ to know what someone is feeling.

But if you can guess what those reasons are? What are those guesses?

If the root of the problem is her stress, then she will continue to eat for comfort until that is resolved.

Veganism is a ‘surfacey’ way of viewing the world and people.
