Energy drinks decrease my angry thoughts

Angry thoughts against people who bullied me at school diminish when I drink a Monster or Red Bull or any energy drink.
I searched on the internet and found some news that linked taurine with an improvement in psychotic symptoms. (Energy drinks have taurine too.)

I do psychoanalysis. I did EMDR in the past and it worked for me. The problem is that antipsychotics don’t allow me to do EMDR because they affect my attention. When I did EMDR in 2019-2020 I wasn’t taking the antipsychotic.

I only drink zero sugar energy drinks/pre workouts, but I have found to be happier when I drink one. I always chalked it up to the caffeine, though.

If it has green tea extract, it could be the L-theanine.

It’s really good for trauma, but hasn’t been shown to be helpful for SZ symptoms. I suggest something like CBT.

That’s in green tea, it’s a good stimulant. But there’s also levodopa, but it’s more potent. My psychiatrist told me that it doesn’t work for negative symptoms because it doesn’t go to the mesolimbic pathway, however when I ask ChatGPT about this, the AI tells me that it increases dopamine throughout the brain.

@Joker It’s not a bad idea

@shutterbug EMDR did help me with schizophrenia. I started to take better care of my hygiene and my self-confidence and self-esteem increased. But I did EMDR without taking the antipsychotic. When I started taking the antipsychotic again, all the symptoms reappeared. It was really strange.

monster and redbull are pretty calming for me also, i take taurine supplements sometimes now but when i first started drinking energy drinks i was like wow ive been really missing out, now its been over 5 years and i havent gone one day without caffeine due to migraines

I’m sorry, @cigarino, my dad is the same way. He has both severe chronic migraines and cluster headaches. It’s hard to watch sometimes, but I’m sure it’s like a personal hell to go through for the sufferer. Hope you can find relief, man.

This is because at the end of the day you are escaping yourself by using drugs.

Most people do it.

It is good to be aware of it though.

At the end of the day everything is an escape/distraction whether it be drugs, physical activitys, imagination, even doing nothing is an escape strategy lol. Most people like to be busy though so they dont have time to think about it

@Nirvana id recommend cbt and a redbull

I also read that art is a good therapy. Expressing yourself through drawings or paintings. But what I’m experiencing is very strange. I’m not taking the antipsychotic right now, I’m stopping it but its full effect hasn’t worn off yet, because vraylar has a very long life span. But once its effect wears off completely, the angry thoughts go away too. I told this to my psychologist and he also found it very strange.

It is not an escape from life to be present, conscious and aware all the time. To do exercise, meditate etc is your life when you do it. It is not an escape.

I accept there is a grain of truth in what you say, but taking drugs is definitely a deliberate step to escape.

If you use imagination to escape one’s reality, I agree.
