Encouraged by work and family

For nearly two years now work have told me I work at next level

My parents have been pushing me to move up for better pay

But now the opportunity to progress does not exist in my area

Do I keep working as I have been or really push for better pay?

I get a lot of perks with my role

Should I shelve the promotion and keep going as I am? Or do you think I should advocate for the pay equalling the responsibilities I have taken on?

Do you work from home?
If so then does better pay mean going into the office? Idk but something to weigh up

I do yes and I think that is a really good thing I have right now

But I see what you mean. Think people actually in the main office probably get more opportunities

However the reason I was on this thought was what they have been telling me

Thank you

It’s much better not commuting, temperature control, no noise or other distractions plus not getting consumed by office politics

Open plan offices are not for me

I was offered a manager position at higher pay. I declined the offer because I don’t want the stress managers go through. It’s not for me. So in the meantime I make very little money but I keep my sanity

This seems very sensible

I am going to do the same

Meeting my manager tomorrow and will let them know

Money wise I am stopping my spending on some things that should help

Plus home costs should reduce over the next few months
