Good question. I live in Oklahoma and I’m not sure if there is any questions or a renewal application since we don’t have to renew but every five years.
I’m from Texas. They revoked my license because I am schizoaffective. But then they said i was medically okay. I have to ask them what the letter means. I have to pay 100 dollars to get it back if they let me.
I’d like to know more about your experience with them. I assume you clicked yes on the box. What questions did they ask you before revoking your license?
How do you get around or work without a license?!? Join the amish and get a horse?
They sent my mail to my moms and she never gave me my mail. I got papers five months later and sent the papers they wanted to them. Then they revoked my dl. Then said I was medically cleared.
In QLD, Australia, I have a medical certificate to say I can drive and a ‘M’ on my license which means medical condition. The medical cert states that I must remain on treatment for schizophrenia and cannot drive if experiencing a psychotic episode.
There is probably a similar system in place where you live.
Got my license at 17. Got sick at 19. I drove off and on until I was 30. but I’ve been driving steadily since I was 37. I live in California and whenever I renewed my license they never asked about a mental illness and I never volunteered the information. I’m happy. DMV is happy. End of story.
Hell, we have to let the mentally ill drive in California. How else is our governor supposed to get to work?
Yes. More than 10 years since my last accident and no tickets in more than 5 or 6 years. You can actually have your driver’s license revoked for schizoid, which is not even a psychotic disorder…or for paranoid personality. No psychotropic meds either.
google houston chronicle drivers license depression and see what comes up
