How effective is it? Any side effects?
It varies by person. It works ok for me but I take latuda and lithium too. I have tremors in my hands and feet. I take cogentin for them
I liked haldol. If you’re on a low dose you shouldn’t get too many side effects. The worst for me was zero sex drive and restlessness at the beginning.
I took Haldol in the hospital. I got a really bad muscle side effect from it but that’s just me. Others seem to have good success with it.
Haldol is a good med. On its own, it helped my symptoms some, but not enough to make me fully functional. I don’t recall gaining much weight on it either (I gained like 5 lbs tops). Just remember that each med works differently for different people, so don’t be discouraged if the haldol doesn’t work out. There are plenty of other meds to try. Good luck with the haldol though!
Only experience taking that alone, not combined with another AP, lost 30lbs in less than three months, controlled hallucinations, still had intrusive thoughts.

Eventually hallucinations came back for me and kept thinking people were saying things they weren’t.
Overall, if it didn’t stop working, I would of liked it better. But all my meds stop working after a while
I use only haldol (0.5mg). In higher doses i found it very sedating and zombifying. In low doses as well, but to a much lesser extent. I prefer haldol over other meds though. It works immediately and effectively for me and the other meds have even more side effects.

Years after being off it, I was given it in the ER and threw it across the room, and just took ativan that they gave me. No way was I taking that after I had another antipsychotic in my system! It’s strong stuff
Was it dystonia? I got dystonia from Haldol.
Did it make ur vision blurry? Jw because I’m on a haldol injection and my vision is blurry.
Yea, it changed my eyeglasses prescription too. It did something with my sight. Not much you can do with blurry vision. I know carrots are good for the eyes

I take 50mg haldol but when I have breakthrough symptoms I take 60mg
No I got really odd backwards muscle contractions in my head and neck. Very unpleasant.
