They charged me a dollar and some change for a “convenience fee” how convenient of them.
DoorDash, Uber Eats, Uber, Instacart, they are all rip offs.
I spent over $50 for a back and forth Uber ride to travel under 2 miles to my destination
But I had no choice
I never used any of those services. I’ve heard stories of people getting rides to doctors appt and back. I think that’s a great service if covered.
A lot of people use it for personal or convenience and it’s unnecesary. A lot of it is because they are lazy or w/e.
They take the profit away from restaurants as well. I refuse to use these services and just pick up my own food.
What do they charge for delivery? Domino’s charges about $4.49, then charged me $5 extra.
On top of delivery fees, they also expect a 18% tip too.
I only order UberEats or SkipTheDishes if their are any deals going on.
If not, I’ll drive and pick it up myself.
I’ve never used them because it’s more expensive.
That seems extortionate. I would just walk.
I live about 3 miles outside of my town and walk when I can, get the bus when they run, but use Uber sometimes especially if the bus gets cancelled or its late at night. They charge me around £10 which is $12
Regular taxis are more than double that (£25+) which I guess is what you paid.
I was wrong
It’s about 6 miles to the destination
I’m with my infirmed father so even if I wanted to walk we couldn’t
He’s 90 years old
They charged 5.99 I think
Sometimes people have no choice but to use all these services, like Lyft and Instacart for example, just to mention a couple that I frequently use. Such as when you cannot drive, as I cannot.
