ive tried applying for ssi due to a disability, SZA, but i am denied every time, i am considering now quitting meds so that i can have the energy, motivation, and drive to actually get stuff done and work. i would be fine taking meds if i qualified for ssi but because i am denied i may have to put up with more symptoms so that i am not bed bound for the rest of my life which it will be much worse to never be able to work or make any money or accomplish anything, than to feel more uncomfortable from my mild sz symptoms

How long have you been trying cigarino? It took me several years. The only good thing about it taking so long is that you get back pay from the time of your initial application. I went for years without income between the time I stopped working to the time I finally got benefits but it kind of created like a savings account for me when I did get them.

i dont have several years to wait. ive been trying for about 3, i finally got an attorney this year but it seems like they are not doing anything but just scheduling the appointments to file, they havent called once. my mom is getting old, i dont want to be financial dependent, i lost my dad last year i want to be prepared so i am making it on my own in life if something ever happens to my mom.
i have never worked because i got sz at 15 and have been receiving treatment for 6 years going on until now that im 21

Oh…you are applying for ssi…i missed that. I thought you were applying for ssdi…I don’t know about that.
I forgot how young you are. Yeah, not easy to work when you get it at 15.

It also helps you be approved if you claim to be suicidal, from what lawyers have told me.

Have you tried calling your attorney instead? Maybe they are just a bit of a slacker. Often times with these things you gotta make some noise if you arent being served. Saying nothing wont help.
