EDIT: I read the last paragraph and I was wrong and off-base. Got pretty pissed reading those initial paragraphs and did a rage-quit. Sorry, and will read the article more in-depth and all the way through. Thanks.
It gets shut down really quickly on this site.
I can’t decide if that is a good or a bad thing…
This is a new thing to me. Some people have too much time on their hands.
A sign of regression? Since when was SZ even seen positively? The only progress I can think of is being laws on equality etc
Attitudes have not changed and mental health campaigners only try to normalise anxiety and depression
Not things like bipolar or schizophrenia
And this is why i prefer to be indifferent regarding diagnosis labels. People take something like a mental health diagnosis and turn it into a meme like “schozopost”
So rediculous.
Schizoposting subreddits are banned for hate against schizoprenia sufferers
Facebook doesn’t care.
really? What kind of hate? I didn´t know any of that
Maybe hate is a strong word but it’s sure misinforming what and who we are. Pushing memes and making caricatures of us who suffer a thought disorder that we are violent animal abusing mass shooting unhinged people is unacceptable.
I am just noting the difference between platforms that support this behavior and platforms that take action to stop this.
How does facebook make society better by allowing this.
we are pretty tame tbh
Another label with negative connotations. At the end of the day they tried to balance the article at the end but it lacked any harmony. Putting everything under a microscope and describing every minutiae with the authors own bias only helps perpetuate the fear of the public when they here the word schizophrenia. Divide and conquer. They speak like we’re second class citizens questioning our use of a Internet forum. I think the article strives to normalize what’s schizophrenic behavior on a forum. The article says it’s ok to be judgmental of schizophrenics under the authors breath. How would he like it if I went to his job and put him under a microscope and wrote a paper about it sending it to his boss. Anything for money. Writing an interest piece with the hope that enough people read it so the author can have money to go to the store and buy canned soup for dinner. A lot of these journalists are parasites feeding off peoples misery. The author could of wrote a positive piece instead he decided to stigmatize schizophrenics more and conclude that a schizophrenia forum is full of chaos assuming by deduction that we’re all agents of chaos. I hope his mom gives him a spanking.
It’s just normies having fun, I think it’s creative, some are just exaggerated and don’t represent real sz but they’re just jokes, most people here would be hurt by them but I have a thread on another website with schizoposting posts I found on the Internet I think they’re entertaining
If they’re done cleverly, some jokes can be hilarious.
Usually though, those memes are made by people who actually have SZ, so it’s both funny and relatable.
…A normie who posts “they’re in my walls” with a picture of some scribbled ghost-type figure is both edge-lord and lame as fuuck.
This is going to keep happening until the pervasive cult that exists in America (and several other countries) right now dies. It’s the strongest cult I’ve seen in my lifetime and I place the blame for the birth of the term “schizoposting” completely on this cult. Members act schizophrenic but are often not… they just belong to the cult.
I’ve had people comment that and it just makes me think of this meme is that what they think is going to happen
Completely agree with joker. Everyone knows what autism, depression are and are comfortable discussing them. Theres plenty of awareness days and campaigns for them.
People have no idea what bipolar or schizophrenia is. Its almost like its a taboo subject, or that we arent worth generating discussions about.
‘The Agenda with Steve Paikin’ - Canadian TVO news magazine program, highly reputable.
Why do people troll? - discussion.
I made a meme
