Nobody in my family has mental illness. Just me. It’s possible that an uncle had bipolar though. But I’m not sure on that.
My sister takes the same meds i do, just a lower dose she has frequent hallucinations but she didnt get a schizophrenia diagnosis. I also had hallucinations but its probably not sz or sza.
I believe it does however no-one in my family has it except for me at this time but I research genealogy as a hobby and found a great uncle who committed suicide at the age of 25 so he most likely had some kind of mental illness, other than that we only have adhd and diabetes in the family.
On my dad’s side. I have an uncle and greataunt with sz. I also have two cousins who’ve experienced psychosis.
I got it from my dad (and I did not even grow up with him, my mom raised us all alone) so great chance is that it runs in the genetics

Not really. I had a great aunt who heard voices for a while, but that was due to grief.
I do have some family members with other things like autism, bpd, adhd
