Hi I am on my way to making an appointment to have ect done and I need to make sure it will remove my voices from my head, has anybody had it done and did the voices go away right away or after a few treatments?
I’ve seen ect do a lot of good treating severe depression, but I don’t know how it does in treating psychotic symptoms. I’m thinking about trying it for some of my behavioral problems.
I’ve known some who have had tremendous success with ECT relieving symptoms and some who have had no luck at all. I think it depends on the individual and their particular type of SZ/SZa.

Yeah, I got ECT and it removed voices almost completely from my life. It took a lot of sessions though to see progress. Usually the depression gets better before the voices get better.

I just got my first treatment done, I am very sore. But I suppose if I get
several more then the voices will go away.

Yes, it usually takes many. But congratulations! Hope you don’t get too bad side effects.
