I would say schizophrenia from creativity. It is the creativity of what I would say is the highest order.

Sz changes me, but I donā€™t think it makes me more creative.

Hmmmmā€¦ My delusional thoughts are creative, but they are chaotic and stressful and I canā€™t make them into anything beautiful, like art or poetry

My sz has always got in the way, lack of motivation, feeling judged, positive, negative symptoms & side effects, it all doesnt help, some people are creative but iā€™d say sz is a barrier.

Creativity can present in many ways.

Divergent thinking in Schizophrenia can be thought of as creative IMO. Seeing and thinking about things different from the norm.

Surviving schizophrenia is creative enough

I think its a stereotype that people with schizophrenia are automatically gifted artists. I hardly see having debilitating delusions and thoughts as being a source for creativity.

I was having thoughts about self improvement, getting smarter and stuff when I was in college as I was not doing much in life but my brain could not copeā€¦ I would say creativity has nothing to do with Sz.

But maybe it might be something that may be a part of the recovery process and if something good happens over a period of time creativity may happen.

I agree @Bkewlk but would like to add that every living thing, including people, including schizophrenic people, experiences life differently. We all have our own sense of reality including those of us who are schizophrenic people and those that consider themselves ā€œnormiesā€. It is standard paractice for us humans to define reality as that which can be validated by shared sensory experiences between people (see the same thing, hear the same thing). But thatā€™s not a sharing of the actual experience. A hallucination or delusion is a real experience to a schizophrenic person but they cannot be substantiated by other people. As a result the minds of schizophrenic people have much broader unconstrained scope than the minds of normies. we are neurodiverse. Wired differently than ā€œnormiesā€. We are different.

Havenā€™t been able to write since my episode , so im not sure creativity comes from sz.

Iā€™ve been told many sz are highly sensitive and I think highly sensitive ppl tend to be creative. No?

When words donā€™t workā€¦

I heard on the radio sensitive people have less of a filter to incoming stimuli(kinda like schizophrenics). This fosters creativity through more or maybe unusual connections and the need to work through them. Something like that.
