Evidently the cats aren’t just peeing in the litter box. My sister’s room smells faintly of pee
In my experience,
Nothing you can do.
You have to have a professional clean the floors if they are going there.
You have carpets,
Right?
You can get special cleaner which has an enzyme that breaks down the cat pee. Or so I have heard
I may have to. They’re my dads cats but they sneak in when I open the door.
@GoldenRex. The carpet in that room is 23 years old. I may just rip it out and replace it.
I’ve been having the same problem!
My cat keeps spraying everywhere even after being neutered
It is a headache and a half…
We keep him indoors because of the mountain lions
And he meows all night to go outside…
He pees on the carpet too because he sprays…
I wish there was a soul Ito on to this

Those febreeze sprays with anti bacterial. Spray it all over and rub the fabrics down with a cloth. Then dry it with a hair dryer or turn the heat up?
I wouldn’t replace it with more carpets.
They harvest smells and are impossible to clean.
Carpet cleaning services are pretty cheap in the uk. Not sure how it is in the us.
There’s all kinds of commercial products specially made for eliminating cat or dog urine odor from carpets.
My dad bought a house that had wood floors that the previous owner’s and dogs pooped and peed everywhere. What he did was sand all the floors then put a new lacquer on it. That got rid of all the smells. The thing is though the floor under my carpet is that cheap mobile home flooring so idk
Tigger sprays sometimes. Kind of comes with the territory when you are a male cat’s slave. We just limit the rooms Tigz has access to. Hope you can get rid of that smell.

Ammonia gets the smell out of laundry so I imagine spraying it on the peed on areas would help. Just make sure to get it good and wet and make sure to have the area ventilated.
Nature’s Miracle is a pet store product for cleaning pet urine out of carpets.
It’s possible the cats are spraying to mark their territory. Both male and female cats can spray, even if they’ve been neutered or spayed.
Have you checked the walls and furniture for any evidence of spraying?
We use vinegar on our floors. Don’t think it would do anything with carpet though.
I dunno about putting ammonia on carpets. I would be a little wary about doing that.
She could do a spot test. It’s good for laundry fabrics.
