Does anyone here meditate?

My concentration and energy are pisspoor so I get that. But I think its from the illness for me. Hopefully it will get better for you

Thats pretty cool, I’d love to be in a forest and be feral for a bit

I love meditation. It feels good to me. I particularly like body scan meditation. Meditation is my go-to coping mechanism and my go-to pass time.
“Don’t seek happiness. If you seek it, you won’t find it, because seeking is the antithesis of happiness. Happiness is ever elusive, but freedom from unhappiness is attainable now, by facing what is rather than making up stories about it. Unhappiness covers up your natural state of well-being and inner peace, the source of true happiness.”

I pray if you count that. But oftentimes I get distracted and have symptoms when I pray. I still do it, though. Some things are more important than avoiding symptoms like voices. imo

Yes, for a long time morning and night. I just can’t get by without it, just like I can’t get by without meds.

I listen to guided meditation sometimes.

Such as Louise hay.
Now I found another woman I’m adoring and she has a lovely voice.

Like the classic meditation stuff? Nope just activates the wu wu part of my brain  my internal visuals are too active.

If i meditate its usually with an activity like guitar or downhill mtn biking. Something where my focus is almost trance like in a flow state.

I used the headspace app for a month. They have simple guided meditations. It’s really good. I tried Sam Harris’s app but he started asking you to do weird stuff while meditating. I like just focusing on my breath, body, and sounds. Meditation is suppose to bleed over into your normal life. So you’ll have more periods of focus or calm. I think the more you do it, the more you experience that while going about your day.

Just subscribed to headspace again. Did the first session of the beginner lesson. It’s 12.99 a month. Very easy and slow buildup. The first session was 3 minutes. They have a 7 day free trial.

That happened to me when it wasn’t guided. I just sat there trying to focus on my breadth. It made me weird and emptied out my head. Won’t do that again.

I also tried guided. Same problem.

I’ve tried none of it worked sadly i know it helps people tho

Occasionally, when i feel really numb i meditate and it helps me to feel. And sometimes when im depressed meditation helps me to accept it. Sometimes it helps me realize that everyone suffers at some time or another. And sometimes it helps me appreciate nature and feel happy.

After regularly meditating daily for the past 1 year, I have almost no intrusive thoughts, rumination, maladaptive daydreaming. Meditating also improves my mood.
