Does anyone here live in thailand??

I would like to move to thailand for a year but I don’t know if my medications available? I’m on vraylar and zyprexa. Does anyone know?

Also is it hard to get accommodation there? I would like to study buddhism and maybe join a gym for fitness and health.

Hi welcome to the forum. We do have a member here who’se a US citizen who lives in Thailand. I think they are on older meds though so I’m sure if they are around they will fill you in.

Zyprexa and vraylar are the only drugs that work on me. So I hope that they are available. I forgot to mention I’m also on paxil.

It probably is an issue of cost. I’ve a friend who lived in Thailand for a year or so but that was way back in the noughties. It will probably be different now and I’d imagine the country has suffered with the covid. No tourists…

Early days. I’m sure someone more experienced than me may help. It’s hard to live overseas unless you have some savings/income. It really can suck if your mentally ill and don’t have insurance/coverage.

I’m on disability. I get around 800$ a month. Of course Im thinking of doing all of this after covid-19. Or at least when I get the shot.

Yeah you’d have to see how the chips fall so to speak. Thailand had a lot of it’s GDP in tourism and foreign money. I’m from Australia so we have pretty close ties to Asia and lot’s of our people aren’t travelling where they used to. Places like Thailand and Bali were popular because it’s cheap.

Also. Not sure about your disability laws but I can’t travel for long anymore on disability. They locked that down so us Aussies can’t live overseas as easier anymore.

Yeah I know what you are talking about. It was hell even getting approved for disability. But I’m a nutcase so there wasn’t much that could be done there.
I mean there isn’t much I can do. I can’t work nor study because of this illness. Thailand is a dream but maybe I’m breaking some kind of law, I don’t know.

False, you wouldn’t be on a schizophrenic forum if what you stated above was true.

welcome to the forum @Speedy =)

In the US, if you leave the country, your benefits stop. You’re not allowed to collect disability if you’re not in the US

Thailand is a tourist country Ive read plenty foreigners live there in some way, but i know they have strict visum rules there, look up study visum maybe. And also dont do drugs or illegal things, you go to jail.

Pattaya was a great place before it became a tourist hotspot . Fond childhood memories of searching for seafood under a beach hut on stilts.
