A lot of people retire here. Yeah it’s a great place. I’m in Chiang Mai. It probably beats being stuck in the US but still anything is difficult with this illness. How long have you had SZ TomCat?
I have been schizophrenic for just over 10 years. Haven’t been to Thailand since 2007 so about 11 years. I have been all over. Kinda partial to Phuket but I have been to Bangkok and Pattaya the most.
It’s easy to get meds here, no questions asked. I usually pick up a big batch when I go back to the US but I’ve bought meds from a local psychiatrist a couple times. I take Haldol and it’s not expensive.
TomCat,
Come for another visit… Thailand is even more fun to come to on holiday than to live here. It’s pretty ordinary for me now and I can speak some Thai.
Yeah, it’s a constant battle to stay strong. Try and be strong though.
Depression hits a lot of us afflicted with sz and sza.
I was initially diagnosed paranoid sz, and I think I was misdiagnosed as schizoaffective. Regardless of diagnosis I’ve been fighting symptoms for about 10 years.
I study languages. THai and Tibetan. I guess I enjoy that. I’m enjoying working out at the gym. It gives major relief from negative emotions. I enjoy traveling but sometimes it makes me feel bad and I get moody. I feel best when I’m near a beautiful ocean, walking on the beach, enjoying the sunset, and swimming in the ocean.
Those are awesome hobbies. I read an occasional book, play guitar, collect weird old records, surf the net, exercise (mainly walking), and I’m in the process of waiting for an online class I enrolled in to start.
I live in America . I also have a lot of free time. I guess I’m good at occupying my time with decent and positive things. I’m really excited for school to start!
