Does anyone have same problem any ideas how to tackle it

I feel like I want to sleep nearly all the time.

It seems to be I have no motivation  whatsoever to do things I need to do.

I just want to escape in sleep.

How can I overcome this sort of pattern of routine.

For example I’m really still in need to complete online job training but I just keep wanting to sleep.

Ps

I am weaning off coffee atm that may be one reason but even before then it was like this

My problem with sleep is that I wake up every hour or two. Every night is a struggle so I sleep a lot. That makes my awake time much less productive. I think this is because of abilify but I am not sure. I only take one med.

Have you ever done research into ā€œsleep hygieneā€, that might help.

One thing I picked up is that if you are in bed for more than a half an hour (with falling asleep) then you should get up and do something quiet for a while and try to sleep again.

Yea I have that problem too in the night.

I’m also just on abilify.

Maybe it is the abilify contributing.

I don’t know.

But I like your advice. Thankyou

I sleep 12 hours each night, so I’m probably a bad example. But coffee in the morning is one of my favorite moments of the day. I’m a procrastinator too. I like the saying ā€˜procrastination is the thief of time’.

Well if after those 12 hours you are awake that’s cool enough. I’m not

Great, it hasn’t helped much but a little, also I think exercise may help. Although the thing with exercise is it can also wake you up… maybe if you get used to it.

@anon17326926 But do you take a prn or something?

I take clozapine as a prn. Helps me to sleep.

Yeah, I think a lot of people get good sleep that way.

Just wait. Make yourself get up. I went through this, I wanted to sleep forever, Seroquel was partly at fault, and I got off but still wanted to sleep literally forever. Would wake up and sit in chair and close my eyes. Finally, sleep started to bore me. Now I’m better off. It happened naturally over about a year.

@Zoe I had a problem wither oversleeping the past couple years. Like 2-3 days at a time. always lathargic and fatigued. No matter what. Turns out Im diabetic. Guess not getting sugar into my blood slowed me down. Dilemma being, with the Schiz diagnosis they always assumed that it was from sedation from meds and took me off or scaled back dosages of meds that I prefer. Since starting insulin, problem solved. not suggesting you’re diabetic, but asking for a full blood panel is always an option.

Thanks @JudasK, I do need to get my blood sugar tested. You make a good point.

Glad you got to the root of it
