Does anyone else just pace around the house?

Sometimes i’ll do this for a couple of hours. Can anyone else relate?

I did that after I got out of the hospital. Happened for a while but passed.

Abilify made me pace for hours, jiggle my legs when sitting, rock my chair, fidget, constantly restless.
I can sort of relate. Do you think its from your meds?

I’m not sure. None of my medications make me antsy but i am pretty tolerant to the ativan that i take everyday so it doesn’t do much for anxiety anymore.

Not sure what to do.

Yes :older_woman:

Ps I don’t excercise

You paced a lot on February!

And nice twist on the using the app and transforming the pacing in recovery.

Hmm, have you tried any natural remedies for your anxiety, to go along with your meds?
My sister in law (who is bipolar), and many people on here, swear by Valerian Root. I have never tried it, but it allegedly works wonders to relax.

I drink decaf teas that help from time to time

Well that’s good. I wish I had more ideas for you.

I sometimes pace back and forth in my room for exercise. When I was on Prolixin I could not stop pacing. Anywhere I wanted to live I had to have enough space that I could pace back and forth in.

Last year I walked all over town. I had to be walking. I walked all day up until bedtime. I put in some serious miles. I don’t feel that urge anymore. I am on the same meds. I must have just gotten over it.

I pace and chew ice.

I paced a lot when I was on APs - Akathisia
I have been pacing lately off of APs because of psychomotor agitation due to my mixed episodes
It kind of feels like Akathisia but without the AP.

Try to get 5mg Diazepam 3x daily. Ativan stopped working for me too. Diazepam helps me feel normal. Not groggy but just me. As for the pacing, no. I am too depressed. I lay in bed sometimes almost all day. I enjoy doing errands and finally lost weight and got into some cute clothes. Got a stylish haircut. Greet strangers. I am on Latuda, it definitely gives energy. But pacing? No.

All the time. I often do it to music for a couple hours spread out between the day (my free time…)

My old doctor prescribed me some and it worked well combined with ativan. My new one won’t prescribe me any.

Yes I used to peace a lot hard to figure out if it was the meds or the condition.

Yeah it’s gotten a lol better sense I’ve been on meds
