My father helps me financially……and I am thankful for that. I don’t know what I would do without him.
It sounds like he loves you alot.
My mum pays the bills in the house. I pay some of it but mostly she does.
Up until the age of about 31 or 30, I got support a lot of the time.
Now not anymore.
My mom income and my income is one budget to run the home and live.
Same here………my father pays the bills, and he pays the rent.
I help dad and he helps me. I owe my parents a lot from a long time ago so my last 15 years have been helping them by paying back some time and money. I still live a good life and have lots of support so it’s not a bad thing.
I was financial support for my own mother when younger, and for my daughter now.
I am the damn pater familias.
My Dad helped me out when I was younger and he was working. My Dad got too old to work and I ended up helping him out. It was the least I could do.
COVID got him in August.of 2021. Wish he was still here.
But mom doesn’t need my help. Dad was just bad with managing money. When he was healthy he made plenty of money. Had a lot of brawn.
When he got older and on Social Security he couldn’t do the manual labor he was accustomed to doing. He built fences and did construction.
I once saw him pick up a Coke machine that fell out of the back of a truck and put it back on the truck by himself. He was a strong man. 6 foot three.
My mom is retired and lives on her retirement check and I live on my disability. I pay for the majority of the food and other expenses I incur.
Flying solo here ![]()
From my Mum and Dad, I’ve been independent from them since I was 9. Foster child since then.
My mom supports me financially. Without her I wouldn’t be able to pay rent. I help with food costs.
This is before the group home.
UK benefits for me are very generous so I don’t need any support from parents?
My step mom recently paid half of a big dental bill.
I do.
I am so beyond grateful for his help, and I worry about how much longer he’ll be around. (He’s 75.)
It’s not just the money – he’s one of my favorite people.
It is a goal of mine to start working on things that will eventually give me an income. I hope it happens
My parents are a little too dead for that
So @Jake are you able to pay for the group home when your father is no longer able to help you?
This is emberassing, but less so seeing others going through same thing.
I help with bills from ssdi, buy some of the months groceries with my hardly any stamps and mom pays the bills. Dad takes me to most appointments and picks up prescriptions.
Some life it is eh ![]()
