Does abilify 5mg work well if I skip one or two days for avoiding relapse?

I’m skipping 5mg AD dose today since yesterday I could feel it little bit too much. I’ve heard it has half life of 3 days.

You seriously need to ask your pdoc.

We as patients can only guess

How does it help with relapse if you skip doses? I don’t get what you want to say.

If you have just started taking it this might require some getting used to. Otherwise you will need lower dose.

I wonder how half life is actually implicated in real world? You might have become used to abilify or antipsychotics overall.

If abilify builds up in the body then I’d think that skipping doses or lowering the dose would help

According to @everhopeful tagline “5mg is not a therapeutic dose of Abilify”

But in all seriousness I don’t know, I’ve missed 1 days dose before by accident. Both with Olanzapine and now that I am on Lurasidone. I have always been fine. But I have never missed 2 days in a row.

Yeah, that’s a doctor question. I can go a month without meds before cratering, but some people here miss two days and they’re in crisis. Depends on your own health history and how your doc feels about it.

I need it as AD. 10mg is too much since I’m already on invega 234mg

I was only on abilify for a short while as an AP. It didn’t work for me and I became psychotic.

How do you feel now that you have missed 2 days? If you feel fine count your blessings and take your next scheduled dose, with any luck you’ll be fine. If not take everyone elses advice and call your doctor.

When I was on 15mg abilify, I started taking it every 2 or 3 days only.
Fast forward a month or two, and I got to spend a month in the hospital with psychosis and on suicide watch.
Afterwards the abilify didn’t work, and after the doctoe had upped my dosage enough that it wasn’t legal to put it higher, they had to switch me to a med that was really uncomfortable for me to take due to the side effects.

Stick to your prescribed dose and intake frequency.

You are not a doctor, and you are not more knowledgeable about medicines than a doctor.

Missing dose a day of medication - it can workout. Missing doses 2-3 days in row is troublesome.

Oral forms don’t work similar to depot injections.

Your doctor is better judge on this issue.
