Doctor appt update

So I went to the psych appt today.

The psychiatrist didn’t understand what was going on with me. I tried to explain that I felt like dreaming, that I felt like I was watching myself from somewhere, etc. He didn’t comprehend and just kept asking me more questions.

He didn’t think it was psychosis so he came to the conclusion of: “just think that you’re normal, ok?”

what?

Any change in meds?

I accidently said zoloft but it was actually effexor.
No, no change for now.

Depersonalization can consist of a detachment within the self, regarding one’s mind or body, or being a detached observer of oneself.[1] Subjects feel they have changed and that the world has become vague, dreamlike, less real, lacking in significance or being outside reality while looking in it.

Venlafaxine is even worse than sertraline, it works on both serotonin and norepinefrin at same time, the sense it makes is like amphetamines, for someone like you it causes total dettachment from reality,

What is your dx?

@anon10648258
He’s wrong. My psychiatrist calls that derealization and depersonalization.

Schizophrenia is my dx.
My doctor thinks no voices=no sz
But he never took sz off of my diagnosis list.

I have no voice but am a severe sz,

I hear no voices but I have severe paranoia and moderate delusions.
Oh also negative symptoms.

Have you ever been on an AP?

Yes. On olanzapine. That one worked well.
He took me off of it and wanted to see how it goes.

Just now he took you off olanzapine?

No, about 5 months prior

I think you need a new pdoc if you can get one

Why try and fix what wasn’t broken?? Sounds like it was working and your current situation isn’t. I’m sorry but Your pdoc is an idiot if he thinks you don’t hear voices therefore you’re not sz and not needing antipsychotics, even though they work for u…

So how it goes? The sz is not just about hearing voices,
Delusion and paranoia and negative symptoms need care too, and an AD may help with negative symptoms but not with delusions and paranoia, sometimes AD makes things like paranoia and delusions even worse and can be the cause of your dettachment from reality,
To be sure that I’m wrong, check it with another psychiatrist,
