Doc prescribed a new med

Does anyone else have experience with Geodon? I am not currently psychotic so they prescribed just a small dose but eh

I’ve never taken it but as I understand you have to take it with a certain amount of calories (food).

yeah she told me about that. is it good?

Like I said I’ve never taken it but some people here swear by it. They say it’s good for helping them get things done.

I love geodon. I am taking only geodon and a few supplements, and I have had no positive symptoms in over 3 years. It has very few side effects. You do have to take it with 500 calories minimum, which can be hard to get used to.

I have been taking it for nearly 7 years. I used to take it along with amitriptyline, but now take it on its own. It made me sleepy for the first month or so, but now I don’t even notice it.

I took Geodon. I had no side effects on it, but it didn’t stop what other people say are hallucinations and delusions. I’m on loxapine now

My experience isn’t very good with regards to Geodon. I had severe Parkinson’s symptoms.

sounds bad! my doc said that it didnt have any side effects, was i deceived again…

All meds have possible side effects, but geodon has the least chance of side effects out of anything on the market so far.

What about Abilify? I thought it had the least chance of side effects… I was on Abilify last time

Abilify is known to cause impulsive behavior in some cases, and weight gain in others. Generally speaking, newer meds have fewer side effects, but every body reacts to every medicine in its own way.

I’ve been on Geodon for over ten years. It’s been great. I love it.

I see. I am kinda scared of starting new meds because of the side effects but hmm… i guess its worth a try if it helps with not having any more symptoms

i dont have anything other than negative symptoms atm which is a good thing

If you don’t like it you can try something else, but a lot of people swear by it, me included.

Geodon is really hard to get. It is only available in a few countries, and in the US not all insurance providers will cover it. But most people I know on geodon seem to be doing better than average with positives and negatives. I will admit I am hopelessly biased, though. Geodon gave me back my life.
