Do you visit charity shops?

My local one has paperbacks for 50p and hardbacks for a £1. Bought this one for £1 but costs £14.99 to buy new.

Yes I’m a big fan of charity shops. Most of my clothes and books are second hand :+1::+1:

Oh yeah!

I buy most of my clothes from thrift stores.

My favorite thing to do is to buy old Levi’s and alter the inseam on them.

I get most of my clothes at “The Manna Center”. They normally sell slacks and knit shirts for $4.00 a piece, but sometimes they have sales of those item. A while back they were selling knit shirts for a dollar a piece, and I scored big time. I won’t be needing shirts for a while.

Not really but I need to donate. I have a four bedroom house and all the closets are full. We only use one bedroom. I have a lot of clothes. But when we were younger I used to get furniture from those places. It was really a good price. I look at the Salvation Army stores every time I drive by but I haven’t been in one in years.

I buy as much as I can in thrift shops and only new when I can’t find what I need used or when it doesn’t make sense to purchase used.

I go to thrift stores all the time. For clothing and books, and occasionally I’ll try them for small appliances, and I got a great deal on a chair from them as well. Regular retail stores are a ripoff.

Environmental concerns also play into it for me. The more we can reuse and keep out of landfills, the better. Our species needs to be more concerned with how much crap we dump back into nature.

Hadn’t thought of that, but that is a great reason indeed! Especially the man-made fibers, they’re not going anywhere. Thanks for pointing that out to me !

Yes. We call them thrift stores. I recently bought an end table; wood with a glass inlay on top for $10, a round accent table with a black marble looking top for $26 and a wooden magazine rack for $6.99. I also bought a raspberry color upholstered rocking chair for $30.

Also this nice vase for 99cents.

Same with me my friend. This is why I try to buy most of my clothes used. Fast fashion is responsible for tons of waste and thrown away clothes. People need to learn to donate.

But your comments are spot on.

You bet!

I love my local thrift although I ■■■■■ once in a while about it.

I love buying books, DVDs, and the occasional vinyl record.

I buy my t shirts from charity shops. I get the odd set of jogging bottoms as well for slobbing it in. Loads of them round here.
