I used to buy all my clothes from charity shops.

I have no done so for a while.

For some reason I got a bit hooked on buying Tommy Hilfiger t-shirts. At Christmas they have really big savings

When I had to wear shirts to work, they all came from charity shops.

I never paid more than about £3 for a shirt, and I got really good makes as well

There is a Marie Curie shop by the Tesco where I live that always has the best branded clothes for sale

Nothing wrong with that to me.

I imagine even when I could afford new threads I’d still go there.

Going thrifting is actually very trendy where I live. People don’t care about brands as much as the look you have.

I loooove charity shops! I buy a lot of my clothes second hand and books too. It doesn’t bother me that others wore or read it before me. I kind of like it. I love to wonder what history each item has. Imagine who wore or read it before me.

Used to go to Goodwill, a charity shop in the US when I was short on money, found comfortable shoes, nice tops, and inexpensive sunglasses.

My local Goodwill tends to have really cool books. :+1:

To the OP, thrift shopping is pretty common here in the States. Sometimes you got to dig through a bunch of clothes or books to find something good.

But quite often there’s really cool and cheap stuff at thrift shops.

I started buying clothes at thrift stores when I was a teenager and wanted to find my own look.
I actually found a William S Burroughs paperback once. And an Abbie Hoffman book.
Later on I found some incredible vinyl, CDs and audio/video equipment. And other stuff like guitars and amps and even a tube tester once.
Stopped going though, even though there’s one about a ten minute walk from my house.
