Do you think you’ll be on meds rest of life?

Do you think you’ll be on medication rest of life. A couple of years ago Psychaiatrist said I probably will be. Today nurse said probably won’t but long term.

I’ll be on meds for life, and I’m ok with that.

Yeah I’m scared of relapsing.

Me too. It’s a scary thought.

How many times have you been ill and how long have you been stable?

I’m not scared of relapsing as much as having to go on a higher dose afterwards or worse still becoming antipsychotic resistant.

I don’t know if I will come off.

Right now I’m thinking 70 30 to coming off

I’ve been stable and on meds for 7 years. I was diagnosed 2009, so 11 years ago.

Does coming off meds make you meds resistant?

Not necessarily but I imagine it might somewhat increase the chance.

I say that from stories I’ve heard of people having to go on higher doses after relapse.

But that may just be because they didn’t taper off properly and weren’t mentally and emotionally in the right state to come off meds.

It’s all slightly mysterious

I’ll be on them for life. No biggie. Just hope my med insurance doesn’t stop.

Totally cool with being on them for the rest of my days. My brain juices start flowing if I don’t take my meds.

I am not that bothered to be honest

Been on an AP for 8 years continuously now.

Only truly been psychosis stable for the last 3 years

Coming off meds all the time just hurt me and the people around me

Yes I will be on medication for the rest of my life. And it’s ok

I hope not.
Hopefully after some time, my brain will be able to handle the symptoms without meds.

I’ll be on meds my whole life. It doesn’t work the other way.
