I’m not sure if my schizophrenia was preexisting and the stalking just made it worse. The stalkers introduced me to certain ideas (which i won’t state because they could be triggering) and a year later i was sectioned. However, I did experience minor delusions prior to the stalking but I was able to see that they were delusions. By the time i got sectioned i had no insight. There is a possibility though that i was headed in that direction even without the trauma. I don’t know.

Stress can trigger schizophrenia in vulnerable individuals. But whether or not it would happen eventually regardless I don’t know…

Yes. Most definitely. There were higher rates in concentration camps. People in war situations develop symptoms.

I’m sure stress could make it worse for you. I never would have become schizophrenic, if not for breaking my neck , so in my case it is trauma-related
When you say your stalkers, do you mean as part of your delusions, or in the real world?
There’s too many traumatic things that happen in this World and too small of a percentage of people with schizophrenia for that to ever make sense. Trauma may be an environmental trigger for someone who is genetically prone to schizophrenia but it doesn’t do it by itself.

It’s hard to say. Both elements need to be present most of the time. Some people are so genetically prone to schizophrenia that they don’t need much of a trigger. Some people are so genetically programed to resist trauma that it is impossible for them to develop schizophrenia.
The stalkers are possibly real but my mum and friend think it was an hallucination. What happened was I was talking to a friend over a chat program and there seemed to be loads of people listening in, including the producer Russell T Davies and the producers behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, plus lots of people from the Livejournal site (where the friend was from) spouting death threats and racial abuse. It all sounds like a delusion but there was certain information from them that I could not have possibly known such as Russell T Davies mentioning his new show called The Second Coming, a show that didn’t come out until a year later.
Of course it could all have been a wind up and only one person was there orchestrating the whole thing.

I had 2 head injuries when I was very young but never went to the doctors about them I fell smack bang on the back of my head when I was 4 and immediately went sick I dont remember it at all but my family does they told me. The second time was when I was sitting on something high and someone pulled my legs off and I fell on the back of me head again and felt very dizzy/ nauseous.

I’ve had 4 head injuries, the last one before my psychosis I fractured my skull and had an acute subdural hematoma, head injuries suck. Do you think your injuries contributed to sz?

Its cause by enviromental, genetics and past abuse and trauma, i been sexual abuse and manipulated. And verbally abuse. This why was im so F@ck up in the head.
