İ have one question for sz patients who see visual hallucinations.do you see visual hallucinations when you close your eyes too?
@anon68444330, I was told by one pdoc that visual hallucinations are only when you have your eyes open and you are wide awake. But, I have personally experienced closed eye visual hallucinations and was taken seriously by pdocs on the matter so, who knows?

I see both. I think they’re both still visual hallucinations, but I don’t know.
I don’t see them when I close my eyes.
When I close my eyes though, I always see a swirling vortex of random shapes and colors. I thought everyone saw this for a long time, until a friend informed me that she only sees solid black or dim red when she closes her eyes.
When I close my eyes I get random flashes of pictures of landscapes, people, objects.
I call them closed eyed visuals. But I don’t know if that counts
Same, I see mainly the shadow entities and other creatures while awake but only see a weird wormhole of red and purple with black streaks while my eyes are closed.

i sometimes see thing similar to hallucinations when i close my eyes, but i just call them visions
I used to do this thing where I would close my eyes for a few seconds and if it was still there when they were closed then I knew my brain was making it up since you can only see real things when your eyes are open. Its harder to tell when you blink a few times and they disappear when they are closed just like everything else in the world.
