Do you see monsters?

I see monsters when I close my eyes and it is very disturbing. I hope it doesn’t mean I’m a bad person.

It doesn’t mean your a bad person. Lots of people have intrusive thoughts and sometimes they are visualized.

I don’t but I have aphantasia, so I don’t see anything at all when I close my eyes and even try to imagine stuff.

Yes they are hallucinations.

I saw a shapeshifter once in a book store. Kinda disturbing.

Yes sometimes I’ll see monsters or deformed people when I close my eyes.

Like @FreeLunch said, these are part of intrusive thoughts.

Nothing to worry about

They’re not always intrusive thoughts. Sometimes they’re hallucinations. But same sort of ball of wax. They’re all psych symptoms.

Not since I stopped watching the news.

It has zero bearing on what kind of person you are. Intrusive thoughts are not your fault. I used to see mutilated images while drifting off to sleep early in my disorder but not for many years since.

Can you see hallucinations when you close your eyes?
In your thoughts?

It happens almost never. But last night when I had my eyes closed in bed I saw a face with red eyes looking at me. Maybe a demon looking thing but without any weird features. Just pale skin and red eyes looking directly at me or in my eyes.

I saw monsters in the dark as a kid. I had a vivid imagination.

Since sz I’ve only had the huge spider visual hallucinations but I don’t get those anymore.

Sometimes when I close my eyes I can see the whole room as if I would be with open eyes. I mean I see my room even with eyes closed… but this hallucination happened when I was scared or stressed before sleep.

Visual hallucinations are really rare for me,
But auditorial… if I am stressed voice in my head become annoying and critical

Yes, it is possible for those with sz/sza to experience visual hallucinations, with their eyes closed, when they are not asleep.

I get the same monsters or scary faces when i close my eyes. The freakiest part is they’re original and not based off of anything i’ve ever seen.

yep me too. But it has not prohibited the occurrence of vivid mental imagery, because I choose to accept that it can affordably be intergrated with some delusional phenomena, such as thought insertion and thought broadcasting, rendering my aphantasia and augmentation provided by an externality, without consent, and I like to think, for my pleasure. Whacky hey?

Aside from scary hallucinations (and I’d rather not go there, it’s very triggering), there have been people I’ve met throughout my life who are ‘monsters’: bullies, narcissists, sociopaths, outgoing obnoxious types (yes, outgoing doesn’t always mean one has good interpersonal skills), energy vampires, gossipers, slanderers, stalker trash, etc. Yes, ‘monster’ is a strong word for some of these, but I use it because words can often wound more than a weapon. Verbal abuse horrible. Many times these monsters are in the guise of beautiful people.
